The World Boxing Council’s minimumweight world champion, Thai Wanheng Menayothin, aims to add another defense to his record in Thailand next month, against dangerous Japanese Tatsuya Fukuhara.
Wanheng, whose birth name is Chayaphon Moonsri, comes to this bout, following a successful defense against Australian Omari Kimweri in June of this year.
Menayothin already has a long and triumphant history with the WBC. He won the world youth title in March 2007, defending it successfully eight times. Then, he won the WBC International title in December 2009, defending on 12 occasions. He marched on to conquer the WBC minimum world crown in November 2014. So far, he`s successfully defended the absolute crown seven times.
