140-pound prospect Maxim Dadahsev will face battle-tested veteran and former lightweight titleholder Antonio DeMarco on September 14 on ESPN, part of the Jose Ramirez-Antonio Orozco card the night before Canelo-GGG II.

Dadashev (11-0, 10 KO) is a hot name in the division, a Russian native now based in California. He’s won two fights this year, stopping Abdiel Ramirez and Darleys Perez, the latter a solid step-up fight.

DeMarco (33-6-1, 24 KO) would also be a nice next step. The 32-year-old Mexican fighter looked all but finished after three straight losses in 2014 to Jessie Vargas, Rances Barthelemy, and Omar Figueroa, but has bounced back with two straight wins, including a stunning first round knockout of prospect Eddie Ramirez last October. That was DeMarco’s last fight.

Also tentatively set for the card are junior welterweight Hiroki Okada (18-0, 13 KO) against TBA, and Jamel Herring (17-2, 10 KO), who is slated to face John Vincent Moralde (20-1, 10 KO) in a super featherweight bout.
