By WBCboxing.com

In Sochi, Russia, Maxim Vlasov (42-2, 25 KOs), defeated tough Nigerian fighter, Olanrewaju Durodola (27-5, 25 KOs) in ten rugged rounds, capturing the World Boxing Council Silver Cruiserweight title.

Vlasov, 31, is not known as a great puncher. He has however  proved to be a very good fighter who was hurting Durodola in each and every round, forcing him to quit after the tenth.

Durodola started the fight very aggressively, but Vlasov was too elusive and used his counterpunch effectively. Vlasov’s dominance became clearer after the sixth round. Durodola was receiving a lot of punishment.

At the end of the tenth round, Durodola looked completely exhausted and decided to remain on his stool.
