Floyd Mayweather is in the house tonight in Brooklyn as a promoter for tonight’s Showtime doubleheader, and spoke with Jim Gray about a potential fight with Conor McGregor, which is still creating a lot of media buzz, for better or worse.
Here’s some of what Mayweather had to say:
On making a fight with Conor McGregor
“The best thing to do is to look up how much money Conor McGregor has made, then look up how much money Floyd Mayweather has made. Then you can make the fight happen.”
On whether he wants the McGregor fight
“I’m a businessman, when it’s all said and done. Absolutely.”
“That’s all about entertainment right there. That’s something the people want to see. I know we can do some crazy numbers if we can make that fight happen.”
On there being a figure that could get him to fight a boxer again
“No. I’m away from boxing now. I don’t really know how to put it. If it’s Conor McGregor, it makes sense to me. If it’s anybody else, it don’t make sense, not to me.”
