Floyd Mayweather Jr. is predicting a win for Deontay Wilder in his third fight with Tyson Fury if he trains him for the fight. Mayweather believes with the knowledge that he could bestow upon former WBC heavyweight champion Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs) with his training help, he can rip the title back from Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) in their trilogy match.

“If I train him I can teach him how to win,” said Mayweather when asked if Wilder can beat Fury in the third fight. ”

35 isn’t too old for Wilder to adopt Mayweather’s shoulder roll defense, and how to throw his shots with pinpoint accuracy.

Mayweather knows how to fight tall fighter, and he would have the ability to teach that to Wilder, who needs new blood for his training team. He’s been with the same guys for ages, and he hasn’t looked good in his last couple of fights. Wilder might need to work around Mayweather’s busy schedule to partake in his knowledge as a trainer since he travels constantly.

If Wilder traveled with him, he could continue to soak in Mayweather’s knowledge. At this point, Wilder desperately needs a guru like Mayweather to turn his career around so he doesn’t get humiliated again by Fury.

If Wilder can afford Mayweather as his new trainer, it would be a great addition. Big George Foreman also wants to help ‘The Bronze Bomber’, and he’s invited him to stay at his place for a month. Foreman has a lot of boxing knowledge from his long career, and all the great trainers he had to work.

Fury dumped his trainer Ben Davison before the rematch with Wilder and hired a new guy in Sugar Hill Steward, the nephew of the late great trainer Emanuel Steward.  Sugar Hill is Kronk Gym trainer, and they believe in taking the fight to their opponents.

Wilder has a lot to contend with for the third fight, and he NEEDS the brains that Mayweather would bring to the table as a trainer.

Deontay has to take away that jab that Fury likes to throw. Fury uses that to measure his opponents and then come behind it with one of his clubbing shots to the back of the head. The long reach by Fury enables him to reach around the back of his opponents’ head to brain them. It works for him.News:VIDEO: Thoughts on Wilder vs Fury 2

Wilder has to do something quick in terms of bringing in a new trainer. The rematch with Fury will be taking place in July, and Deontay only has 4 months to prepare for the fight.

His training camp is going to need to start soon for him to get ready. That means Wilder has only a month or so to find a new trainer to take over the job. There’s nothing wrong with Wilder adding a new trainer, and keeping Mark Breland and Jay Deas to be assistant coaches.
