Menayothin aims to break the record tie by hitting fifty one

World Boxing Council minimumweight champion, Wanheng Menayothin (50-0, 18 KOs) is in action on August 28, defending his belt for the tenth time, in the province of Nakhon Sawan, Thailand, aiming to break Floyd Mayweather`s record of fifty wins, by going one better.

His rival will be tough Filipino Pedro Taduran, ranked number 14 on the World Boxing Council lists. He has a record of 12 wins with 9 knockouts and one loss.

Menayothin, who had more than 200 amateur fights, has a long and distinguished history with the WBC. He won the WBC youth minimumweight title in March 2007, successfully defending it eight times. He then won the WBC international title in December 2009, achieving 12 successful defenses. On November 6, 2014, he won the world minimum weight crown by knocking out Mexican Osvaldo “Gallito” Novoa.
