Mendoza to fight Yabusaki on Aug. 2 in Korakuen Hall

DAVAO CITY — Flyweight prospect Michael “Captail Barbel” Mendoza of Camarines Sur will trade punches against Kento Yabusaki of Japan on Aug. 2 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.The 21-year old Mendoza (9W-1L-2D, 3KO) defeated Vincent Bautista of Bohol by a unanimous decision to win the vacant Philippines Boxing Federation flyweight title last March 22.He earlier knockout Alvin Defeo of Camarines Norte in the 3rd round last Feb. 5 in Quezon.The 21-year old Yabusaki (7W-2L-1D, 5KO) TKO’d compatriot Yuji Okinori in the 6th round last April 12, 2019.He also TKO’d Retsu Akabane in the 3rd round last Nov. 3 in Korakuen Hall.Meanwhile, Kei Iwahara of Japan will fight Vladimir Baez of Dominican Republic in an 8-round super lightweight bout.
