In the countdown to his September 10 fight, challenging WBC super flyweight champion Carlos Cuadras, Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez Is sparring with Alberto “Metro” Guevara.
Metro’s now stationed in the Roman the training camp. A welcome addition, he has just had his first run by the side of Roman at Big Bear. The honey sweet prize lies in wait, at the Inglewood Forum, where Roman plans to become the first 4 times world champion from Nicaragua.
In an intensifying routine, Roman will have an 8 rounds sparring session and his trainer, Arnulfo Obanda, will decide how much time he’ll spar with each of his colleagues.
Until now, he has 12 sparring partners, among them the Caballero brothers, Randy and Rommel.
Roman concludes the training camp on September 2 in Big Bear, traveling that afternoon to Los Angeles, where he will work on the finishing touch details.
