Lindolfo Delgado, a 2016 Olympian from Mexico, has joined Richard Schaefer’s Ringstar Sports roster, adding to a group of names from Rio who have signed with the fledgling company.
Delgado joins teammate Misael Rodriguez, Lithuania’s Eimantas Stanionis, American Carlos Balderas, and French super heavyweight gold medalist Tony Yoka on the Ringstar roster, along with David Haye, who announced a co-promotional deal with Ringstar earlier this week.
Delgado, 22, had a reported record of 139-15 as an amateur. He lost his Round of 32 (first round) match to Italy’s Carmine Tommasone in Rio in the lightweight (60kg) division. Despite that, he is a good pro prospect, and his game may translate well to the paid ranks.
“By signing with Ringstar I will be given the best opportunities to become a world champion and have the career I envision,” Delgado said. “I really feel that this is the best promotion company for me. I believe Ringstar can help me reach great heights in the sport and beyond.”
