Welterweights Mickey Gall and Randy Brown will fight at UFC 217 in New York City.
Having seemingly dropped off the radar following an impressive win over Sage Northcutt, young welterweight prospect Mickey Gall will make his return to the Octagon on November 4th at Madison Square Garden.
After a report from Newsday, UFC officials confirmed that Gall will take on fellow “Lookin’ For a Fight” signing Randy Brown at UFC 217 in New York. The main card will air live on pay-per-view, with prelims split between Fox Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
Gall (4-0) is coming off the aforementioned second-round rear-naked choke finish of Northcutt at UFC on FOX 22 back in December. All of the 25-year-old’s professional victories have come by rear-naked choke, including at UFC 203 against former WWE star CM Punk.
Brown (9-2) is a former Ring of Combat welterweight champion who has more UFC fights under his belt (5) than Gall has total pro bouts. “Rude Boy” debuted in January 2016 with a decision win over Matt Dwyer, but was choked out by Michael Graves later that April. After consecutive finishes vs. Erick Montano and Brian Camozzi, Brown suffered a decision loss to Belal Muhammad at UFC 208 in Brooklyn.
UFC 217 features a tripleheader of title fights, starting with a women’s strawweight championship bout between titleholder Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Rose Namajunas, followed by the co-main event between bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt and T.J. Dillashaw, then the night’s action is completed with middleweight champ Michael Bisping defending his belt against former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
