World Boxing Council super featherweight champion Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt (31-1, 28 KO’s), is preparing to defend his title against hard case Japanese samurai Takashi Miura (31-3-2, 24 KO’s), on 15 July, at the Los Angeles Forum.
He became world champion by defeating Francisco ‘Bandido’ Vargas via technical knockout. The culmination of a long standing dream, backed up by year’s of hard work and intense focus:
“I remember as a child I always dreamed about the green and gold belt of the WBC, and although many people did not give me any support or trust, based on sheer hard work, intense training and a day by day, struggle the prize came.”
In his social networks Berchelt published few days ago he enthused: “For me it is a pride to belong to the WBC.”
Miguel is an exemplary champion, because besides being a fierce fighter with a lot of heart, he carries out social work like visits to hospitals, donation of blankets, visits to prisons and more. At the WBC we are proud of Miguel Berchelt.
