Three-time world champion Cristian “Diamante” Mijares, will fight again in Cancun, Quintana Roo; this time he will face former world champion Tomás “Gusano” Rojas at the international Oasis Arena.
Mijares, a skilled southpaw, will face the tenth world champion in his career. He has fought against boxers like Leo Santa Cruz, Victor Terrazas, Rafael Marquez, Nehomar Cermeño, Vic Darchinyan, Jorge Arce, Francisco Arce and Tomás Rojas, whom he defeated by points in 2004, when both were starting their professional careers
Mijares, who has boxing in his veins, conquered three different times the super flyweight belt.
Mijares has always remained among the first places in the divisions where he has fought. He has contested twice for the bantamweight and super bantamweight world crowns.
He is currently ranked 4 by the WBC in the featherweight division.
