Mikey Garcia and Sandor Martin attended their last pre-match press conference, before Chukchansi Park on Saturday, and Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn expects more than 7,000 fans at the arena.

Garcia (40-1, 30 KOs) will step into the ring for the first time in nearly 20 months. Many of the names have returned since the global COVID-19 pandemic temporarily closed the sport in 2020. Garcia is one of the big names who had not been able to do this until now , but everything will change this Saturday, when he will display his skills.

“I’m ready to show the world that I’m still here,” Garcia said. “I keep reminding everyone that I’m here. I haven’t left. There is still so much more of Mikey Garcia to give to the fans. This is just another fight to give back and show them.”

Martin (38-2 13 KOs) will step into the ring not only for the first time in America, but also for his greatest challenge and his most notable rival to date. However, the reigning European super lightweight champion is aware of what he has before him and plans to make the very most of this opportunity.

“It is a great card that I must take advantage of because it will be against the great Mikey Garcia,” said Martin. “That’s why I got into boxing. To accept great challenges and achieve my dreams. I have worked my entire life for this opportunity.”

Some have questioned why Garcia faces Martin. He stated: “I took the fight with Jessie (Vargas in February 2020). We had plans to have a great year. Due to the pandemic, everything fell silent. I’m excited to finally get back, get into the swing of things, and look for much bigger fights. I want great title fights. Those are the fights that excite me the most. This is another step in that direction. “
