In only his second professional bout, two-time Olympic medalist, Mikhail Aloyan of Russia, defeated Nicaraguan, Marvin Solano (19-2, 7KO`s) to conquer the vacant World Boxing Council Silver Super Fyweight title, in the main event celebrating the anniversary of Russian boxing, in cavernous Red Square Moscow.
Solano visited the canvas in the eighth round, but forced Aloyan to work the full twelve rounds. Southpaw Aloyan displayed his best boxing to considerable advantage, reflected in the scores of 118-110, 117-110 and 119-108.
