MMA fighter killed in kebab house shooting

An MMA fighter was killed during a shootout at a cafe in the Ivanovo region of Russia.

The incident took place the Defender of the Fatherland Day celebrations national holiday celebrations on February 23rd. Reports revealed that two groups of young men became involved in a conflict at a kebab house that escalated into a shootout. Ahmed Hasanov, a 30-year-old MMA fighter, was wounded during the attack and died at the scene.

“The body of a man was found near a café-barbeque in Teikov. He has gunshot wounds to the head, torso and limbs, ”the investigation department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Ivanovo region revealed.

According to eyewitnesses, the shooter fled by car. He is currently wanted by local investigators, who plan to charge him with murder (part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

Hasanov was a student at the Fightmafia MMA (SBE) Teikovo club, where he trained for several years. However, his coach Andrei Kurbatov revealed that Hasan had stopped training at the gym to focus on earning money as the sole breadwinner in his family.

This marks the latest incident involving the death of an MMA fighter. On February 7, Russian boxer Alexander Kostromin was found murdered in the Belgorod region of Russia. On February 17, a martial arts champion was killed after allegedly picking a fight with a security guard at the Ministry of Digital Development and Mass Communications in Moscow.
