Mogawa, Gomera Get setbacks Saturday in Bangkok
In an 6-rounder blow-by-blow battle, Thai super bantamweight Parin Luangpon (2-0, 1 KO) decisioned brave Filipino Emmanuel Mogawa (5-6, 2 KO’s) of Dipolog today, Saturday March 26, in Bangkok.
In another clash, world-ranked WBC # 8 “Chonoi” Thattana Luangphon (16-0-1, 13 KO’s) violently stopped in two rounds Pinoy Jelbirt Gomera (14-7-2, 7 KO’s) of Polomolok.
A series of left hooks dished out by the unbeaten, aggressive Thai ravaged the retrieving Gomera, rocking the Pinoy down and lights out.
The WBC Asia 122 lbs title fight was waived by the referee Thanawat as soon as the Pinoy hit the canvas by right on the blue corner.
However, according to coach Jomar Fajardo, Jilbert Gomera is ok. Thanks be to God.
The rumbles – prompted by NKL Boxing – were live on Thailand’s Thairath TV Channel 32 HD.
