THE Moloney twins Andrew and Jason scored contrasting wins against their separate rivals to both retain their respective WBA Oceania titles last Saturday at the Function Centre in Melbourne Park, Victoria, Australia.
Andrew needed only four rounds in stopping Filipino challenger Raymond Tabugon via technical knockout to keep his WBA Oceania super flyweight crown.
Tabugon, who even decked Moloney in the third round, was still leading on points on the two judges before he was TKO’d.
Jason Moloney, on the other hand, scored a unanimous decision against his challenger from General Santos City Lolito Sonsona to retain his WBA Oceania super bantamweight title.
Judges Andrew Campbell and Allan McColl both scored 100-90 while Peter Flaherty saw it 99-91 all in favor of Moloney.
Meanwhile, another Filipino Silvester Lopez also bowed to Ibrahim Balla by a unanimous decision in a 10-round non-title undercard.
