After 10 rounds of boxing, 29-year-old Mongolian featherweight, former Olympic Silver Medalist Tugstsogt “King Tug” Nyambayar (12-2-1, 9 KO’s) of Ulaanbaatar and late-sub heavy-handed veteran Sakaria “Desert Storm” Lukas (25-1-1, 17 KO’s) fought to a split decision draw in their PBC Promotion supporting bout today in Atlantic City live on Showtime.

Scorecards were 96-94 in favor of the Mongolian fighter Nyambayar, 96-94 for the Namibian warrior Lukas, and 95-95 for a split decision draw.

Notably, the veteran Lukas seems to have clearly knocked down “King Tug” Nyambayar to the blue canvas with a well-placed left jab in round 8.

However, veteran Brooklyn referee Eddie Claudio, who was behind “King Tug” at the time of impact, did not seem to have seen the punch, thus, wrongly ruling the drop a slip.

Should thirdman Eddie Claudio have ruled the instance correctly, the decision would have been in favor of the late-sub Lukas who flew-in from Namibia into Atlantic City just days before the rumble.

Even though the fight was not that exciting, it seem that a rematch might be fair.

Nyambayar vs Lukas was a supporting bout for the main event headlined by 126 world champion Gary Russell Jr. vs Pinoy mandatory challenger 🇵🇭Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo for the WBC Featherweight World Title coming up.
