JAPANESE Naoya “Monster” Inoue knocked out challenger Karoon Jarupianlerd in the 10th round to retain his WBO World super flyweight title held September 4 at the Sky Arena in Zama, Kanagawa, Japan.
Inoue scored the knockout in 3:03 of the 10th round to improve his unblemished record to 11 wins with nine knockouts.
Jarupianlerd dropped to 38 wins, 7 losses and 1 draw.
It was Inoue’s second title defense of the crown he took away from former champion Omar Andres Narvaez via a knockout last December 30, 2014.
Inoue successfully made his first title-defense by stopping Warlito Parrenas by a TKO lasts December 29, 2015 in Tokyo.
Inoue is also a former WBC World light flyweight champion. He pocketed his first world title via a TKO win over Adrian Hernandez last April 6, 2014 in Ota City General Gym in Tokyo.
He defended it successfully via a TKO win also against Wittawas Basapean last September 5, 2014 at the Yoyogi #2 Gymnasium in Tokyo.
The 23-year old Inoue is also a former OPBF and Japanese light flyweight champion. – LITO DELOS REYES
