Danny Green gained a measure of revenge today, avenging his 2006 decision loss to Anthony Mundine with a majority decision victory in an ugly, dirty, sloppy fight between two fighters well past their primes.

The first round saw Green (36-5, 28 KO) coming out aggressive, leading to Mundine (47-8, 27 KO) taking a true cheap shot at him on the break at one point, losing a point but rocking Green to his core, too, and slowing whatever aggression Green was going to try to use. In all reality, it was probably a clever tactic, dirty as it was.

The fight never really developed any rhythm, with loads of grappling and tussling in close, and very little by way of clean, effective punching. In all reality, this should absolutely be the last fight for either man, and neither should seriously consider a rubber match, though you never know — if enough money was made from this fight, it could happen.

The officially announced attendance for the fight was 26,940. Their first fight in 2006 drew over 30,000, with some estimates over 37,000.
