NABF CONVENTION WELCOME CEREMONY

Delegates celebrated the Welcome Ceremony of the forty eighth North American Boxing Federation Convention, at the Atrium Ballroom in the Washington Court Hotel, in Washington D.C.

The NABF is an independent organization affiliated to the WBC. THE NABF sanctions title fights in the region of North America including, USA, Mexico and Canada. It was created in 1968 under the leadership of Jim Deskin (Nevada, EE.UU.), José Sulaimán (Mexico) and Bob Turley (California, EE.UU.).

The current NABF President is Duane Ford. The  vice presidents are Ed Pearson (Canada), Mauricio Sulaiman (Mexico) and Craig Hubble (USA).

During the NABF CONVENTION, there has been a formal meeting of the recently created WBC Officials Committee led by Hawaiian Hubert Minn, with the initiative and support of WBC President, Mauricio Sulaiman Saldivar.

The main focus and principal aim,  is the meticulous evaluation, modification and actualization of the WBC Ring Officials Manual, which has been purposefully used for a decade.   Among the WBC Officials Committee attending are the WBC American judges, Steve Morrow, Barry Lindenman, Glen Crocker and Michael Tate, WBC Canadian judges Len Koivisto, David Birk and Craig Metcalf,  American supervisor, Bob Yalen,  Mexican Judge Alejandro Rochin,  Mexican Referee, Guadalupe Garcia plus leading WBC member and commissioner Juan Carlos Manzano from Mexico.
The WBC Officials Committee  is diligently working towards presenting a detailed recommendation to the WBC Board of Governors and President Sulaiman, during the next annual WBC Convention, this  December in Broward, Florida.
