Nate Diaz hasn’t officially fought since his classic rematch with Conor McGregor at UFC 202 nearly two years ago.
Fights outside the cage, however, are another matter.
Diaz allegedly got involved in a brawl in the audience at the Fight to Win Pro 77 grappling event in Sacramento, Calif., on Friday night. TMZ initially reported the news Monday.
In a video of the incident, Diaz is mostly on the periphery, but he is seen throwing a punch early on in the proceedings. Diaz was not ejected from the event, according to TMZ.
This is the second time this year the Northern California native has gotten into a skirmish at an MMA show in Sacramento. On May 11, Diaz allegedly got into a skirmish with UFC fighter Clay Guida at a Combate Americas event. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department launched an investigation into the incident, but no charges have been filed.
The 33-year-old Diaz (19-11) is best known for his pair of high-profile fights with McGregor. He earned a second-round submission win over McGregor at UFC 196, then lost a majority decision in the rematch at UFC 202, which was the most purchased pay-per-view event in UFC history at an estimated 1.65 million buys.
Diaz has not fought since and most recently made news for rejecting a rumored fight with Georges St-Pierre.
