A lot of fans were heartbroken when it emerged that Tom Duquesnoy was forced out of his UFC 232 bout with Nathaniel Wood, but the UFC has managed to find the Londoner a replacement for the end-of-year card in Andre Ewell.
The UFC announced the fight Friday through its social media channels.
In his last outing, Wood (14-3-0) opened his UFC account with a dramatic second-round submission win over experienced Brazilian Johnny Eduardo. Wood was considered one of the stand out up and comers in Europe on the back of a stellar four-fight winning streak with Cage Warriors. He made highlight-reel knockouts his calling card with the Graham Boylan promotion, stopping every single one of his opponents as he scaled the ranks to claim the bantamweight title.
Ewell (14-4-0) is coming off his split-decision debut win over former UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao. He is veteran competitor under the Gladiator Challenge and King of the Cage banners. “Mr. Highlight” is currently riding a five-fight win streak and has claimed 11 stoppages in 14 career wins.
