DAVAO CITY – Former Philippine Boxing Federation featherweight champion KJ ‘The Ipugo’ Natuplag of Ifugao arrived in Dubai last May 31 together with manager Brico Santig of Highland Boxing Promotions.
The 24-year-old Natuplag (8W-2L-2D, 7KOs) will fight against undefeated Hasibullah Ahmadi of Afghanistan on June 5 at Hilton Dubai in Al Habtoor City.
Natuplag will again have a training with Santig at the Dubai Boxing Gym to three times already.
“Mga 127.05 na ako baka mamaya makukuha ko na 126 (About 127.05 I might later get 126)”, said Natuplag.
In Benguet, Natuplag had a last sparring with featherweight Rex ‘Igorot Warrior’ Wao and super lightweight Ador Torres.
Natuplag first scored a TKO over Robert Udtohan in the 5th round last March 8, 2019 in Angono.
But Natuplag suffered two straight loses, first in Davao to Joe Tejones by a split decision in June 15. Natuplag then loss by a TKO in the 3rd round to Mikito Nakano of Japan last Nov. 2 in Korakuen Hall.
Meanwhile, the 20-year-old Almadi has 11 straight wins with four knockouts.
In his last fight, Almadi scored a TKO in the 7th round over Mustapha Appiah last April 9 at Old Kingsway Building in Ussher-Town, Accra.
