Natuplag to fight Berrio in Dubai

DAVAO CITY – Featherweight KJ “The Ipugo” Natuplag of Ifugao will fight again in Dubai against Argel “El Babillo” Berrio of Colombia on Sept. 12.

“The exact venue is not yet determined,” said 24-year-old Natuplag.

Natuplag (8W-3L-2D, KOs) recently lost to Hasibullah Ahmadi*of Afghanistan by a unanimous decision last June 5 at the Hilton Al Habtoor City in Dubai.

Natuplag admitted that he is more prepared for this fight. He usually practices at Round 10 Gym and Ringside Gym.
“Once at Al Barsha 1 here at the top of the building where we stayed,” said Natuplag

He had Cuban boxers as sparring mates.

“I can’t count maybe 10 or more,” said Natuplag.

Natuplag is working very hard and is currently 62 to 63 kilos right now.

“I have a strong opponent with a lot of experience and a Colombian champion,” said Natuplag.

Berrio (18W-8L-0D, 11KOs), on the other hand, recently won the Colombian bantamweight title by knocking out Jerson Cervantes in the 9th round last June 26 at the Hotel Iraka in Sincelejo.

The Natuplag-Berrio fight will be one of the supporting bouts of undefeated Sachin Dekwal and Muhammad Bilal for the vacant World Boxing Association Asia lightweight title.

It will be promoted by Roshan Nathanial of Team Roshan Sports Promotion and Dunstan Rozairo of DJMC Events. Sanctioned by Professional Boxing Commission (PBC).
