Mauricio Sulaimán, President of the World Boxing Council, says that the super flyweight World Title Elimination match between Carlos “Príncipe” Cuadras and Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada is an intense natural rivalry, that has been cooking for several years and that this weekend in California, will be a very close combat.
“It’s a fight that has simmered for three or four years. It’s a natural rivalry between them and it’s a fight where the one who has the best condition is going to win because with a key victory, he`ll be looking to the future concerning his career for his family,” he said.
“This Saturday in California is a fight of the highest level,” says Sulaimán Saldívar.
“With the result of this weekend “the winner of” Chocolatito “and Rungvisai must fight with the winner of Cuadras and Estrada. It`s a great exhibition and from which there can be other great fights. ”
Due to a busy schedule for the rest of the year, the WBC leader believes that the clash between the winners won`t happen until 2018, commenteing: “It’s already September and I see it a bit tight, so I think it would be for February or March.”
Cuadras and Estrada will be starring in one of the most important and spectacular fights between Mexicans this year. The much anticipated clash is in the StubHub of Carson, California, and can be followed live in all Mexico through Televisa Deportes.
