This Saturday at the Mexico City Arena, the two best Mexican female fighters, Jackie Nava and Mariana Juarez, headline in rematches against foreign opposition in advance of a possible super fight between the two. Nava (33-4-3, 14 KOs) faces Alys Sanchez, and WBC bantam champ Juarez (49-9-4, 18 KOs) meets Terumi Nuki.

Jackie Nava: ”I know Alys prepared twice as hard for this fight and I did, too. She knocked me down in the first fight, but she also felt my power and surely this will guarantee a show for all the fans. I know I’ve been out of the ring for a long time and that could work against me, but I prepared the best I could for this fight.”

Barby Juarez: “Sometimes the Japanese fighters have impressive stamina and especially Nuki, who brought everything in the first fight and I’m sure she’ll do it again. Long ago I learned that should not underestimate any opponent and I’m not thinking ahead to a fight with Jackie.”

Alys Sanchez: “To be the best, you have to beat the best. I’m coming with everything to give a good show so the people enjoy the world of women’s boxing. Women continue to be the most attractive. We come very strong.”

Terumi Nuki: ”Once again we come to Mexico and we feel very motivated to fight with “Barby.” This time we prepared ourselves better, we already know that she has and that’s what we’re going to work on. We’re going to knock her out in one fell swoop.”

On the dais, Ricardo Lozada represented Promociones del Pueblo (Juarez), Guillermo Brito represented Promociones Zanfer (Nava), Víctor Cota represented the World Boxing Council (WBC) and Ciro Nucci represented the Mexico City Boxing Commission.
