NAVARRETE STOPS PORRAS IN ROUND 2 IN MEXICO

MEXICAN Emanuel “Vaquero” Navarrete pummeled to submission Filipino Glen “The Rock” Porras in Round 2 in their world title eliminator bout held January 20 at the Domo Sindicato de Trabajadores IMSS in Tlalpan, Mexico.
Navarrete first downed Porras in the opening round and again twice sent the Filipino lay down to the canvas in the second round.
The 32-year old Porras, a native of M’lang, North Cotabato was finally stopped by Navarrete in 1:37 of Round 2 to suffer his 7th defeat against 31 wins with19 knockouts
The 23-year old Navarrete improved his record to 23 wins with 20 knockouts and only one loss.
The fight was promoted by Fernando Beltran of Promociones Zanfer.
Porras, reigning WBC Asian Boxing Council super bantamweight title holder, was accompanied by his manager Engr. Jilson Basang of MB NorthStar Boxing Stable from Panabo City.
