After a month of breathtaking altitude training in Jiquipilco, State of Mexico former world champion Jackie ¨La Princesa Azteca¨ Nava, is well on course for her August 11th ring return in Mexico City.
Nava (33-4-3, 14 ko’s) faces Venezuelan Alys Sanchez (15-4-1, 4 ko’s) at the Mexico City Arena, which will be broadcast by Azteca 7 and Televisa. Topping the bill are Mariana “Barby” Juárez Vs Terumi Nuki. It`s hoped that the mexicans will win for a long awaited showdown at the end of October.
Jackie Nava is being prepared by her physical trainer Raúl Robles plus coaches Miguel Reyes. and Mario Mendoza, accompanied by two sparring partners: Jose Manuel Reyes and Joel Sánchez!
Prior to the Jiquipilco jaunt, The “Aztec Princess” Nava had completed seven weeks of training routine in Tijuana. Jackie’s most recent fight was in February 2017, with a UD over Ana María Lozano of Venezuela in Cuautitlán Izcalli, State of Mexico.
For this one, the first female WBC world champion in history has fought more than 150 rounds of sparring and stringently complied with a rigorous and complete fitness plan.
“A year and a half without fighting and anxiety suddenly comes to me, but we control ourselves. The idea is to fight well and then go for Mariana Juárez,” calmly stressed the 38-year-old Tijuana fighter.
