Virna Jandiroba wants that UFC call. Just days after becoming the new Invicta FC strawweight champion by defeating Mizuki Inoue via split decision, the Brazilian already wants to make the move towards the Octagon. In fact, as she explained to Combate, Jandiroba feels like the call is already past its due.

“I really do think I’ve been tested enough times, even against former UFC fighters, such as Lisa Ellis and Ericka Almeida. I do believe that the Misuki win was just the cherry on top. I think there’s no excuse, but I don’t make the rules.”

Undefeated and with 13 wins under her belt, 10 of those by submission, Jandiroba claims that her win over Inoue was the one that finally made her realize she could fight amongst elite competition.

“Mizuki is a tough girl and she’s been in Invicta for a long time and she has been tested by other girl tough girls, like Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Alexa Grasso. That really legitimizes my win even more. I wanted to beat someone truly tough and she was tougher than I expected. I didn’t expect to fight five rounds and I got a five-round war. It was a really good fight for me to finally establish myself in MMA.”

Jandiroba is 29-years-old and hails from Bahia, Brazil. Other than her Invicta FC title, she also won Brazilian jiu-jitsu world championship in 2013. On the mat, Virna already grappled with UFC female bantamweight champion, Amanda Nunes, and former female strawweight title challenger Claudia Gadelha.
