Congolese striker Paul Kamanga (21-1, 12 KOs) defeated Frenchman Christopher Sebire (26-10-1, 9 KOs) to win the World Boxing Council International super lightweight belt, at the Mountbatten Center, Portsmouth, Great Britain.
Kamanga, 24, started the fight with good technique and effective lateral movements, but Sebire showed great heart and aggressiveness, pouring on the pressure, connecting with some powerful clusters of punches. Kamanga then rallied to dominate the fight. The scores of the judges were: 97-93, 98-94 and 99-91, all in favor of Kamanga.
