NICART WANTS TO SCORE A KNOCKOUT IN BENGUET


COMEBACKING Jason Nicart wants to score a knockout win against Brian “Buhawi” Lobetania in their upcoming fight this Sunday (Nov. 26) at the CCDC Gym inn Barangay Poblacion in La Trinidad, Benguet.
Nicart is now fighting under the Triple R Boxing Gym of Bacoor, Cavite with his new lady boxing manager Maria Miguela Campilos.
“Sa tingin ko may babagsak sa aming dalawa. Pero sisiguruhin ko na ang kalaban ang babagsak sa 2nd or 3rd round,” (I think somebody will go down from the two of us. But I’ll make sure that it will be my opponent in the 2nd or 3rd round) said Nicart, who scored four straight wins before he decided to take a long vacation.
The southpaw from Mapanas, Northern Samar won his last fight by stopping Benjie Baron in the 2nd round of their 6-rounder held May 16, 2015 at the Moncada Town Plaza in Moncada.
“Akala ko hindi na ako babalik sa boxing. Pero nagbago ang isip ko pagkatapos naming magkita mula ng aking dating trainer na si Ricky Seniego,” (I thought I will no longer go into boxing. But I changed my mind after I met again my former trainer Ricky Seniego) said the 23-year old Nicart.
Nicart (4W-2L-0D, 2 KOs) has been training now for five months with Seniego at the Triple R Boxing Gym.
Seniego is the also the former trainer of Recky “The Terror” Dulay, who is now based in Los Angeles, California under the RED Boxing International of Rey “Cacoi” Rodis II.
Lobetania, on the other hand, has a record of 11 wins with nine knockouts against four losses and three draws. He last won by a 5th round technical knockout over Ruben Traza last Sept. 17, 2016 in San Nicolas.
However, Lobetania lost all his last four fights including a unanimous decision to Arnel Baconaje in their battle for the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation super bantamweight title last March 18 in San Fernando City.
Lobetania dropped his last assignment by a 5th round TKO to Jon Jon Estrada last May 7 in Angono, Rizal.
The Lobetania-Nicart fight is in the undercard of the “War in the North” boxing promotion of the Highland Boxing and DMAD Promotions.
The main event is the championship fight for the vacant PBF featherweight title between the undefeated KJ Natuplag and former Philippine champion Danilo “Pitbull” Pena.
