UNDEFEATED Nick Frese (6-0,5 KOs), the young and sharp 23-year-old professional boxer from Bangkok, Thailand marked his victory upon his professional debut outside Asia.
This time around Frese was featured in the undercard of the much anticipated Super Flyweight rematch between Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez (46-2,38 KO) of Nicaragua and Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (44-4-1, 40 KO) of Thailand.
Frese unanimously won after four hard fought rounds against his opponent former UFC fighter Nam Phan (3-3-1,2 KOs). His impressive performance in the ring was well backed by the scorecards with Frese winning all four rounds unanimously.
When asked about his approach for this fight, Frese’s camp took this fight seriously as the opponent is a tough competitor.
“He could take a lot and kept coming” said Frese.
Upon studying his opponent Nam Phan, the young Thai boxer worked on turning him by pivoting and effectively using his front hand. Trained by legendary Cuban boxing trainer Ismael Salas who is no stranger in the boxing world having trained superstars in likes of Danny Green, Yuriorkis Gamboa and Jorge Linares.
Nick Frese is now part of the Salas boxing stable displaying great potential on being Asia’s next boxing superstar.
