Nick Hein returns to home soil when he takes on Damir Hadzovic at UFC Hamburg on July 22.

UFC announced the fight via press release on Tuesday morning following an initial report late last month from GNP1.de.

Hein (14-3-1) had spent over a year on the sidelines before he returned to action at UFC 224. “Sergeant” was submitted in the first round of his showdown with Brazilian Davi Ramos.

The loss snapped a three-fight UFC win streak for the German having seen off the likes of Tae Hyun BangYusuke Kasuya and Lukasz Sajewski. Hein’s only previous loss in the Octagon before Ramos was decision loss at the hands of ranked lightweight, James Vick. Vick was Hein’s second UFC opponent after taking a decision win against Drew Dober in his debut.

Hadzovic (11-4-0) plays foil to the hometown hero for the second time running when he takes on Hein following his decision loss to high flying Brazilian Alan Patrick at UFC Belem. The Bosnian’s popularity soared following his knee knockout of Marcin Held in the third round of their clash at UFC Stockholm. He had a baptism of fire in the Octagon, suffering a first-round knockout at the hands of surging Russian, Mairbek Taisumov, at UFC Rotterdam.
