Nico Ali Walsh’s grandfather was the GREATEST of all time, and forty years after Muhammad Ali’s last fight, the professional journey of Ali Walsh began, with him defeating Jordan Weeks (4-2, 2 KOs), in a first-round stoppage, in a middleweight bout at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Ali Walsh dropped Weeks with a cracking right hand, and once Jordan got up following a count, a flurry of punches ended the night.
Ali Walsh commented: “This completely lived up to my expectations. It has been an emotional journey these last few months. I’m obviously thinking a lot about my grandfather. I want to make history in the world of boxing.
“Honestly, it seems like a lot of pressure, but to me, he’s my grandfather. To everyone else, to you and the crowd, he is the best fighter who ever lived, maybe the best person. But for me, he is the best grandfather.”
“Hearing those poems from Ali was something I will never forget. I wasn’t expecting that, to be honest, but it was special,” proudly commented Ali Walsh.
