Noynay TKOs Wilson in 5th round to retain title

DAVAO CITY – World Boxing Organization Asia Pacific super featherweight champion Joe “Jaw Breaker” Noynay landed a left straight to knockout Liam Wilson of Australia in the 5th round last July 7 at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre in Newcastle, Australia.

It was the 3rd title defense of Noynay, who took the crown against Kosuke Saka of Japan by a TKO in the 2nd round last April 20, 2019, in EDION Arena in Osaka.

It was Noynay’s 8th knockout and 19 wins against two losses and two draws while the only first setback by the 25-year-old Wilson against nine wins.

Meanwhile, undefeated Tim “The Soul Taker” Tszyu of Australia TKO’d Steve Spark in the 3rd round to retain the WBO Global super welterweight title.

Tszyu, 26, also won the vacant Commonwealth (British Empire) super welterweight title.

The other bouts: Wade Ryan scored a TKO in the 6th round against Troy O’Meley to keep his IBO International super welterweight title for the second time; Linn Sandstrom settled a draw Natalie Hills for the vacant Australian National Boxing Federation Australasian Female super flyweight title; Sam Ah See of Australia TKO’d in the 1st round Czar Amonsot of Bohol.

George Rose of No Limit Boxing Promotions and Matt Rose of No Limit Boxing Promotions promoted the six boxing events. The Combat Sports Authority of New South Wales is the commission while Matt Rose is the matchmaker.

The media were the Australia Main Event, USA ESPN+, and Australia Kayo Sports.
