Kazakhstan’s Bek Nurmaganbet knocked out Mexico’s Bruno Sandoval in the first round to win the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) super middleweight international title on Sunday in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The 23-year-old fighter scored a big win over a more experienced opponent and looked strong in the event that had Aidos Yerbossynuly and Lennox Allen featured the main event.
Nurmaganbet gave no truce to the Mexican and demolished him at the very beginning of the fight to get his first regional belt and put his name on the international boxing map.
It was the fifth victory of his career, the third by knockout. Sandoval, meanwhile, received his fifth defeat of his life, while he has won 21 fights and drawn one.
