Ohara Davies Knocked Paul Kamanga Off His Feet

The controversial Ohara Davies landed a stunning knockout blow to beat Paul Kamanga in their WBC International fight at the O2 in London on Saturday night.

Davies, never one to shy away from attention or keep quiet, made a quite brutal connection with Kamanga’s temple as he launched a right hand over the top. It was a blow that snapped Kamanga’s feet together before he staggered for a short distance across the ring in quite bizarre and worrying fashion, before slumping to the floor.

The referee counted the prone Kamanga out in the second round of the bout as Davies claimed the WBC International Super Lightweight Title in quite stunning fashion.

Davies had originally been due to face Josh Leather at the O2 but Kamanga stepped in at late notice and Kamanga might have expected Davies to show signs of fatigue as he was last seen beating Ahmed Ibrahim on points in Leeds only last month.

There was no such luck for Kamanga though. The win for Davies means that the 26-year-old has now lost just one of his 19 fights in the pro ranks, winning the other 18, and a hugely impressive 14 of those victories have come by way of knockout.

You can see how Davies wrapped up the WBC International title by watching the stunning knockout in the video below. It is a video that Kumanga won’t want to see again as he took a heavy blow before falling like Neymar at the World Cup. He tries to get up but he is clearly struggling and the referee has to hold him up.
