ONE Championship video: Xiong Jing Nan stops Angela Lee to defend strawweight title

Angela Lee came up short in her attempt to become the first female two-division titleholder in ONE Championship.

“Unstoppable” moved up to strawweight to challenge Xiong Jing Nan at the ONE: A New Era card in Tokyo, Japan, on Sunday, and the fighters engaged in an exciting, back-and-forth contest.

Lee came close to capturing the title in the fourth round, but Nan somehow survived a tight armbar until the clock ran out. The strawweight queen came back strong in the final round, hurting Lee with a right straight to the body and following up with strikes to force the referee to stop the contest with Lee still on her feet.

Nan is now riding a nine-fight winning streak after handing Lee her first-ever loss in MMA, going 5-0 with four knockout wins under the ONE Championship banner. Watch the TKO stoppage below, and click here for complete ONE: A New Era results.
