Megan Anderson put on a strong performance on Saturday night at UFC Norfolk with a first round knockout win over Norma Dumont. Now on a two-fight win streak, the 30-year-old Australian fighter feels deserving of the next title shot against Amanda Nunes.

“I’m the only featherweight that is on a win streak, so let’s f—ng go,” she told Michael Bisping during the Octagon interview.

Fellow top women’s 145-pound contender Felicia Spencer, who defeated Anderson on May 2019, picked up a win at the co-main event, which also puts her in the running to face “The Lioness” next. As Anderson made her case, she also says she doesn’t fully expect it to happen, recognizing how the trend is when it comes to granting title shots.

“I feel yes (I’ve done enough), but look at Leon Edwards,” she told media members during a post-fight scrum. “He’s on an incredible win streak and he still hasn’t got a title shot yet. So feeling like you’ve put in the work and you’ve put in the time doesn’t necessarily equate to a title shot these days.

“All I can control is putting on great performances, and I feel like I’m doing that, and I’m showcasing my skills, and I’m showcasing my potential as a star in this sport. And I feel like that’s all I can do and if I do get the title shot, I’m game as f—k. But if not, I’m still gonna be here, I’m still gonna fight and keep racking up them wins until I get the title shot.”

Nunes is reportedly slated to defend the women’s featherweight belt at UFC 250 on May 9th in her home country of Brazil. It would be her first defense of the said title since winning it from Cris Cyborg in December 2018.
