World Boxing Council super featherweight champion Oscar Valdez has a golden and green opportunity to set the record straight.
Valdez (29-0, 23 KOs) will seek his 30th victory, this time against undefeated Brazilian Olympic gold medalist Robson Conceição, on Friday, September 10 in Tucson, Arizona.
12 years ago they fought. Valdez will be able to avenge the defeat he suffered by a point in the duel where the gold medal of the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru was disputed.
Since then, their paths have taken very different directions, culminating in Valdez becoming a world champion, while Robson, who also won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympics, will have his first shot at a world title.
“I have been waiting my whole life for this opportunity and that is why I am training with great determination. I will represent my family and Brazil. I have already won a gold medal for my country and now I will bring home a world title. With great determination, I will achieve a great performance. It will be a real show,” Commented the Brazilian fighter.
The champion commented: “I am very excited to fight in my second home, Tucson, Arizona, where I will have my first defense of the WBC super featherweight world title. It motivates me to know that I will defend the title in front of my friends and my family, and I will be willing to risk it as in all my fights.
“I come to give my people a great show, and I can’t wait to see them on September 10. ”
