A new lightweight bout has been added to UFC 242.
Undefeated prospect Ottman Azaitar will make his promotional debut against Finland’s Teemu Packalen at UFC 242, which is set to go down on Sept. 7 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The news was first reported by MMA Weekly and was later confirmed by MMA Fighting.
Azaitar is currently 11-0 in his professional MMA career. The 29-year-old fighter last fought in August where he stopped Danijel Kokora in the first round at Brave CF 14. Azaitar has nine finishes on his record.
Meanwhile, Packalen hasn’t fought since March 2017 where he suffered a knockout loss to Marc Diakiese. He’s 1-2 in the promotion with his lone win being a submission victory over Thibault Gouti.
UFC 242 currently doesn’t have an official main event, but it’s expected to be headlined by a lightweight title unification bout between champ Khabib Nurmagomedov and interim camp Dustin Poirier.
