At the chic and magnifique Palace of Sports in Versailles, France, local Nordine Oubaali won the vacant Silver title of the World Boxing Council, dominating Mexican Alejandro Hernandez, whom he sent to canvas in rounds 1,2 and 8.
The silver bantamweight championship was only contested by Oubaali, as Mexican Hernandez did not pass the official weighing the day before the bout. Nordine dominated the action for most of the fight. Alejandro showed flashes of promising boxing, but was outgunned and dropped three times.
The match was stopped in round 10 by Referee Anssi Perajoki, after a bad cut to Hernandez’s left eyelid and profuse bleeding, which obscured his vision.
