Ovince Saint Preux just keeps on trucking.
The 34-year-old will make his fifth Octagon appearance in a little over 12 months when he fights Ilir Latifi at UFC Charlotte on Jan. 27. Latifi and “OSP” both expressed interest in the bout over social media, and the UFC made it official on Monday.
After a rough stretch that saw him go 1-4, Saint Preux (22-10) has bounced back in impressive fashion with a three-fight winning streak that includes consecutive finishes of Corey Anderson, Yushin Okami, and Marcos Rogerio de Lima. Saint Preux’s most recent outing saw him step in on short notice for an injured Patrick Cummins at UFC 217, where he capped off a comeback win with a third-round head kick KO of Anderson.
Latifi (13-5, 1 NC) only competed once in 2017, topping Tyson Pedro by unanimous decision at UFC 215. The 34-year-old Swede has won four of his past five bouts, and has four first-round finishes inside the Octagon since joining the UFC in April 2013.
UFC on FOX 27 takes place at the Spectrum Arena on Jan. 27 in Charlotte, N.C.
