PABUSTAN TO MAKE FIRST WBO ASIA PACIFIC TITLE DEFENSE IN JAPAN

REIGNING WBO Asia Pacific bantamweight champion Jethro “Silent Operator” Pabustan of the Philippines will be making his first title defense on October 12 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
Pabustan (29W-4L-6D, 9KOs) will be defending his title against Japanese challenger Hiroaki Teshigawara (14W-2L-2D, 8KOs).
The 27-year old Pabustan is flying back to Japan on Oct. 10 together with his trainer Jhun Agrabio and manager Kenneth Rontal’s wife Amabelle.
“Mas mahirap ang laban ko ngayo kesa noong una,” said Pabustan in a Facebook chat message.
Pabustan, a native of Malapatan, Sarangani Province captured the vacant WBO Asia Pacific bantamweight title by stopping Japanese Tatsuya Takahashi by a technical decision in the 7th round last July 3 also at Korakuen Hall
“I don’t want to lose my title that’s why I will do everything to keep it,”
Pabustan, however, said that there are still those who don’t believe in his capability as a champion.
“That’s why I will really do all I can to prove to them that I deserve the title”.
“I’m with the Lord God that’s why there is no impossible no matter who is my opponent. I will just call our God above,” said Pabusta.
Pabustan has been sparring with his stablemates Jobert Alvarez, Ivan Soriano and Ryan James Racaza.
Before he won the WBO Asia Pacific title, Pabustan stopped Jomar Ministerio via a 2nd round technical knockout against Jomar Ministerio early this year.
Teshigawara, on the other hand, is coming from back-to-back victories.
he 27-year old Teshigawara first TKO’d another Filipino Junny Salogaol in the second round last April 10 then stopped fellow Japanese Keita Kurihara by a 5th round TKO last June 19 both at the Korakuen Hall.
