
Pacquiao loses a close decision to Yordenis Ugas

Cuban WBA Welterweight World Champion Yordenis Ugas, an Olympic Bronze Medalist hungry for glory, won the biggest victory of his career by outpointing Filipino hero Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao tonight in Las Vegas.
The 42-year-old Pacquiao dominated the onset of the fight with his usual more aggressive stance, looking for the knockout.
But Ugas stood his ground with good defensive skills, slick moves, and an effective jab.
The second half of the clash saw Ugas’ overhand right landing on Pacquiao more often, the Cuban taken some close rounds, which at the end made a huge difference.
There were no knockdowns, and at the end of the thrilling battle, the two judges saw Yordenis Ugas winning 8 of the 12 rounds. Pacquiao winning 4 for a unanimous 115-113,116-112 and another 116-112 win for Ugas in the scorecards.
Next week Pacquiao will make tell the world if he will run for the presidency of his native country, The Philippines. Winning a fight or not, Pacquiao is still a shining star in the Philippines.
