SONNY “Pinoy Hearns” Katiandagho, a sparring partner of 8-division world champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao scored a 7th round technical knockout win against former PABA super lightweight champion Stevie Ongen Ferdinandus of Indonesia last Saturday in Hangzhou, China.
The 24-year old Katiandagho from General Santos City improved his record to 11 wins with 7 knockouts against only 1 loss and no draw. He is a former WBC Eurasia Pacific Boxing Council welterweight champion and WBC Youth World super lightweight champion.
Katiandagho, however, lost both titles after failing to defend them according to his business manager Brico Santig.
“Sonny has gained more confidence after he was one of the sparring partners of Sen. Pacquiao,” said Santig.
Katiangdagho sparred Pacquiao, who was preparing for his title-fight with then WBO world welterweight champion Jessie Vargas at the Elorde Boxing gym in SM MOA.
Katiandagho won by a 3rd round TKO against Rafik Harutjunjan on July 9 at Sichuan Gym in Chengdu, China to win the vacant WBC Eurasia Pacific Boxing Council welterweight title.
He also took the vacant WBC Youth World super lightweight title by a UD win against Allan Tanada in Benguet.
