Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner are set to square off in a big Showtime pay-per-view main event on Jan. 19 in Las Vegas, and Showtime will chronicle the build-up to the bout with a three-episode All Access series featuring the welterweight stars.
The first episode will premiere on Jan. 4 at 10:30 pm ET/PT on Showtime, with the second coming on Jan. 11 at 9:30 pm ET/PT. The third episode will be the Epilogue feature, coming a week after the fight on Jan. 26.
Pacquiao (60-7-2, 39 KO) will be defending the WBA “world” welterweight title that he won in Kuala Lumpur, where he knocked out Lucas Matthysse in the seventh round. It was the 40-year-old Pacquiao’s first stoppage win since 2009, and he looked sharp in that contest, a year after his shocking — and disputed — upset loss to Jeff Horn in Australia.
The Jan. 19 fight will also be Pacquiao’s first in the U.S. since Nov. 2016, when he beat Jessie Vargas, and will be the Filipino Senator’s first outing under the Premier Boxing Champions banner.
Broner (33-3-1, 24 KO) fought once in 2018, going to a draw with Jessie Vargas in April. He’s 0-1-1 in his last two fights, and 3-2-1 in his last six. But he remains a TV draw whenever he fights, and a win over Pacquiao would put him right back in the mix as a top star at 147 pounds.
