Cage Warriors 100 keeps getting bigger.
Although the U.K. promotion had already announced that Paddy Pimblett would take part in the Cardiff milestone marquee on Dec.8, the Liverpudlian’s opponent was announced Thursday as Belgian lightweight Donovon Desmae.
Pimblett (14-2-0) comes into the contest on the back of his decision loss to Soren Bak for the promotion’s lightweight title. The bout marked the second lightweight outing for “The Baddy” following his emphatic second-round win over Alexis Savvidis in his introduction to the bracket.
The Next Generation Liverpool has reportedly turned down UFC deals in the past and is best known for his capture of the Cage Warriors featherweight title in 2016.
Desmae (11-5-0) is coming off his loss to Hubert Geven. A doctor forced the Belgian from the contest after sustaining a cut that was deemed to impairing his vision. “Vegas” is currently 2-2 under the Cage Warriors banner. His most notable win came against Aiden Lee who will meet Dean Trueman for the featherweight title after both graduated from the tournament semifinals.
This is how the Cage Warriors 100 card currently stands:
- Jack Shore vs Mike Ekundayo (Vacant bantamweight title)
- Aidan Lee vs Dean Trueman (Featherweight title)
- Nicolas Dalby vs Philip Mulpeter
- Paddy Pimblett vs Donovan Desmae
