GEN. SANTOS CITY — Renoel Pael of Leyte stopped Rogen Flores of Dipolog City by a technical knockout in the 5th round to win the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) super flyweight title last September 11 at the AGA Gym in Claver, Surigao del Norte.
It was Pael’s 10th knockout win of his 19 wins against four losses and one draw while Flores dropped to 14-31-6 record.
The 25-year old Pael was coming from three consecutive losses including an Orient Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) flyweight title fight to Ardin Diale by a UD last December 2, 2015 in Mandaluyong.
Pael then bowed to Japanese Go Onaga by UD last March 13, 2016 in Okinawa, before he again went to Japan to fight another Japanese Suguru Muranaka also by UD at the Korakuen Hall last July 8.
In the main supporting bout, super flyweight Melmark Dignos won by a unanimous decision on Jonathan Ricablanca to improve his slate to 5-1-0.
Ricablanca suffered his 50th loss against 8 wins and 2 draws. – LITO DELOS REYES
